THE TEAM INTRODUCES ITSELF
Olympique Lyonnais’ U19F team are double holders of the French U19 Women’s National Championship title. This year, the team is determined to retain its title, as the championship closes on May 26. What’s special about this team is that it is made up mainly of U16F and U17F players, making it the youngest team in the championship. The U18F and U19F generations make up the professional reserve team, playing in the 3rd Division of the French championship. The club’s aim is to expose the younger generation to more experienced players, in order to optimize their training and prepare them for the transition to the professional squad. Last season, the Academy saw 6 of its young players sign professional contracts with the Olympique Lyonnais first team. Several of them took part in the 2022 FIFA Blue Stars.
